General check-in is available from 14:00 and check-out is 11:00. Early check-in and late check-outs are subject to availability and a small fee, and must be pre-booked with the hotel directly. 

The hotel has two dedicated car parking areas (put postcode S80 1LJ in your satnav). These are free of charge for residents and visitors of The Lion Hotel. If there are no available spaces, guests can make use of the public car park on Lead Hill, which is a pay and display.

The hotel does not currently offer EV charging. The closest EV charging point is approximately two minutes’ walk away on Newgate Street (put postcode S80 2HD in your satnav). 

Pets (even cute ones) are not permitted in the hotel or restaurant, but are allowed in the courtyard beer garden if well supervised and kept on a leash.

We are a Grade II-listed building and while we have made many efforts to make our hotel comfortable for all, we regret that accessibility is limited, and the hotel has several steps that must be negotiated to reach the rooms and restaurant.

A limited number of our rooms offer space for an extra bed or cot. Please request this at the time of booking to ensure you are allocated the best room for your needs.
