Hotel and Visitor Charter
We are working to make the hotel more eco-friendly, but we need your help. We can all reduce our impact on the environment by making choices. As a visitor you have a very important role to play in helping us conserve our natural assets and become a more sustainable destination. Here are our recommended tips on how you can help.
CONSERVE ENERGY
Reduce energy by switching off lights and closing windows if the heating is on. All bedrooms have there own thermostatic control on the radiator please use this to regulate the temperature in your room. The towel rail in the bathroom has been tuned off, please let us know if you wish it to be turned on. The Energy Saving Trust provides information on what you can do at home.

GIVE THE CAR A REST
Leave the car behind, if only for a day. Walk, cycle or use public transport. Did you know that Worksop Train Station is only 10 minutes away, and if arranged in advance the hotel will provide courtesy transport to collect you. The hotel will be happy to supply secure storage for bicycles. We will be happy to supply you with advice on public transport. Please ask at reception.

SHOP LOCAL
Use local produce, they give you a flavour of the area and help support local communities. We are fortunate to have some fantastic producers of food, drink and arts and crafts. Ask us about local markets or local and regional products.
REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE
Try to avoid overly packaged goods and say no to that extra carrier bag. You can also support us in our efforts to recycle. In your bedroom please use the waste paper bin for anything that can’t be recycled, all other goods should be left on the desk and we will place it in our recycling bins.
BE WATER WISE
The UK has rising costs for water treatment and flood defense so please use water wisely. Turn off the tap when brushing your teeth and please adhere to our towel policies and changing bed linen scheme.
RESPECT NATURE
Help us look after the landscape and wildlife by not littering, guarding against fire and using footpaths and cycle-ways responsibly. Ensure you follow the Countryside Code.
The hotel sponsors an Oak tree at Sherwood Forest with the staff taking part in many schemes to help preserve this wonderful forest. And why not visit Dani, our sponsored Lion at Yorkshire Wildlife Park.

THE GREEN TEAM
We have members of staff from each department heading up our Green Team in the hotel. They are constantly looking at ways to reduce our carbon footprint and help in he local community and charities. If you have any suggestions please complete the comment card in your bedroom, or complete one of the slips below and hand it in to a member of staff.
